Rooibos & Honeybush
Rooibos has a rich, distinctive taste, and is only grown in the Cedarburg Mountains near Cape Town, South Africa. It is not from the tea plant (Camellia sinensis) and so contains very few tannins and is naturally caffeine free. Red rooibos is oxidized, and green rooibos is unoxidized, so higher in antioxidants with a lighter flavor.
Honeybush has a similar reddish appearance and is a botanical cousin of rooibos, similarly grown in South Africa. It has is a beautiful honey-like citrus sweet-sourness.
