Mate is made from a cousin of the Holly tree and is grown in Argentina, Brazil and Chile. It is known as a coffee replacement due to its high caffeine content, more caffeine than tea and almost the same as coffee. It is also rich in Vitamin C and other naturally occurring nutrients and antioxidants. Our mates are pleasingly astringent, smooth, and herbaceous, and are not at all bitter.
